Pissed Off at Banks and Credit Card Companies
Today I got a letter in the mail from Chase Bank. It was a formal looking letter with a heading "Important Change In Terms notice Enclosed-Please Read". I thought it was one of those letters that explain your privacy and all of that mumbo jumbo. Guess what,
it wasn't. They were notifying me that my interest rate was going up to 16.24%! It was at an already high 9.99%. I thought I might have been reading it wrong so I called them. The not so nice guy explained to me that "The current economy and recent legislation caused them to raise their rates"
Now I am usually polite to people on the phone but I started to get pissed. I asked the dude if I had missed any payments, he said no. I told him that I was a long time customer that has paid them a lot of money. He repeated that same thing: "The current economy and recent legislation caused them to raise their rates” and he informed me that if I wished to "opt out" of the rate increase he would be happy to cancel the increase and cancel my credit card. I took him up on his generous offer with a couple of swear words. Now I have no Chase Visa!
I went online and searched for complaints about Chase raising their rates and I found tons of people complaining about the same thing! Chase is doing this to too many people and they are pissed. I read stories of people that have had their cards for years, some that carried high balances and some with very low balances. No discrimination here. Chase is screwing everybody.
So after I calm down I may write my congressman or complain to the better business bureau or something

I'm Back!
Hello All. I am back at the keyboard and submitting my first entry in a long while. It will be a short one.
Kinda busy around here. Britt is about three weeks away from her due date and we are remodeling the basement for her and Brianna. So a lot of work needs to get done in a couple of weeks. I was sick for about five days so no work got done. There will be a big push starting tomorrow.
